On 30 and 31 July, the El Cotillo football ground hosted a football clinic organised by Coral Hotels in collaboration with Fundación Canaria Tenerife Costa Adeje. The initiative was aimed at girls aged between 6 and 16 and formed part of Costa Adeje Tenerife’s pre-season training camp in Fuerteventura.

The activity took place over two days, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and offered up to 40 free places for young female footballers from the island. The sessions were delivered by qualified professionals and led by Braulio de León Burgos, Sports Projects Coordinator at the Foundation.

During the training sessions, participants completed a range of exercises designed to develop and improve their technical skills, following the blue-and-white club’s training methodology. The sporting activities also promoted teamwork, interaction, communication and the values associated with football.

In addition to taking part in the training sessions, registration included a sports kit, a CD Tenerife Women gift pack, a diploma and a medal. This gave the young players the opportunity to gain insight into the methods and daily work of a professional team, while sharing their passion for football in an environment focused on learning and team spirit.

The clinic formed part of the programme of activities organised around Costa Adeje Tenerife’s pre-season training camp in Fuerteventura, during which the squad stayed at Coral Cotillo Beach. The programme also included the first Fuerteventura FutFem Coral Hotels Tournament, which saw Costa Adeje Tenerife face RCD Espanyol Women on 29 July at the Los Pozos Municipal Stadium in Puerto del Rosario.

The initiative was supported by the Government of the Canary Islands, the Fuerteventura Island Council, La Oliva Town Council, Coral Hotels and the Canary Islands Foundation of the Las Palmas Inter-Island Football Federation. Together, these organisations joined forces to bring women’s football and its leading role models closer to a new generation of young female athletes in Fuerteventura.

Through this activity, Coral Hotels strengthens its commitment to attracting top-level sporting events to Fuerteventura, promoting women’s sport and bringing professional football role models closer to the local community, particularly young female athletes on the island.
